The Freedom of Being Without a Conclusion: Forward Movement Begins By Accepting Where You Are

To exist is to be a consciousness that does not require a conclusion to have value. We sometimes behave as if existence is a sequence of events leading to a final result, but the reality is that being is an ongoing state. When you stop looking for a final event, you stop existing in a state of anticipation. Anticipation causes anxiety because it relies on the expectation of a specific outcome.

The realization that you will cease to exist in the perspective of the other is a fact that removes the necessity of constant achievement. You are free to be present without the stress of a deadline you impose on yourself, and that of the other is irrelevant. This presence is a state where you are not moving toward an endpoint. You are simply here.

Infinity is the quality of having no boundary. Recent mathematical descriptions of the infinite show that the actual and theoretical universes are larger than our ability to count them. This is not a problem to fix. It is a description of the world. There is always more to witness than can be measured.

When you see your reflection, you acknowledge your own presence in this infinite world. It is an immediate encounter with the fact that you are a physical being who is also aware. You are the person who sees and the person who is seen. These two facts are the same. Your awareness of yourself is the same awareness found in others. This shared experience of consciousness is what connects you to everyone else.

Existence is an activity, not a test. A test implies that you are being judged based on your performance. An activity is something you do for the sake of doing it. When you stop trying to pass a test, you stop feeling the anxiety of failure. You begin to agree with the physical reality of your situation. To move forward, you must first agree with where you are.

Contradiction is part of your nature. You are a physical body with an ongoing awareness that feels without limit. You do not need to solve this. You only need to observe it. The confusion you feel is a result of trying to find an answer where there is only an ongoing experience. And the truth is immediate. It is the breath you are taking now. It is the sensation of your body in this space.

In this state of presence, time is no longer a constraint. You are not moving toward an end. You are existing in the present. Without an ending to fear, you have no particular identity to defend obsessively. You are a witness to reality as it happens. This is the simple truth of being.
